TRANSLATION PROJECTS

Along my academic path, I have demonstrated versatility and precision in translating different types of texts, adapting register, terminology, and communicative intent to suit the target audience. In my undergraduate portfolio, I worked with advertising texts, health-related informational leaflets, instruction manuals, summaries/abstracts, and official documents, as well as subtitling, which strengthened my ability to move between creativity, technical accuracy, and clear communication.
My experience in audiovisual translation and adaptation (including subtitling and dialogue work) has reinforced my attention to rhythm, naturalness, and discursive coherence.
My final project, developed within the Master’s degree in Specialized Translation, consisted of a localization proposal into European Portuguese for the video game Super Mario Odyssey, including the translation of dialogue, character names, “Power Moons,” and menus, accompanied by a critical analysis of the translation decisions. Throughout the project, I aimed to ensure an authentic experience for Portuguese players by using cultural and linguistic adaptation (for example, in managing expressions, humor, and references), as well as consistent choices in particularly sensitive areas such as onomatopoeia and levels of formality.
